That’s not entirely accurate, actually. The blog doesn’t really attract traffic. I stopped it for around 6 months and it didn’t impact traffic in any way (not even a little). Membership flow also hasn’t changed significantly in the last month (since the blog has slowly restarted).
The debate is more whether it’s something actual members find valuable or don’t really mind/care. I’m not going to make the blog entries public unless two thirds of the membership is in favor of it.
I know one voice isn’t generally all that much in the grand scheme of things, but the blog is actually why I continue to be a member. All of the other perks are nice, yes, but I love the story, I love your writing, and I really do wish there was more of it more frequently. When you stopped writing it for those 6 months, I showed up once every week or so to check in, that’s about it!

Hey, sometimes one voice can make all the difference. I really never known if many people really cared about the blog, so it became one of the things I paid less attention to when my schedule got difficult. Your feedback just made my day. I’ll endeavor to write more entries in the future…
Post the start of a blog/story in the public sometimes and note they can read more/the rest as a member.
Seems cruel but its a way to let the general reader get a hint of what they’d be in for as a member. Many don’t really fully understand what they’re missing.
Yeah, I’ve been toying with that idea, or something similar. But the poll was really to see if members find any value in the blog itself or if it was something that should just be for everyone. I’m getting a sense of the answer now.

Its a tough one to call. Making them free to all might draw more visitors but keeping them members only will probably bring in more money.

I really enjoy them and wish they were a little more frequent too.
