At last! I hope this is a return to more regular updates. 🙂 Also, methinks if yon shopkeep doesn’t release the fairy, he may becometh a dead man. I don’t think his decrepit old ticker can handle Li Fang in overdrive. 😛
That’s the goal, yes. But in the case of this story, the collaboration with the artists who do it for me goes back to a time where I could only afford to buy one page at a time, so this was never something I could finance in one shot (still isn’t, really). So I do the pages at a slow pace for that reason. The new comics I produce have fewer pages (generally 4-6) and I finance them in one shot, so I can publish them once they’re ready on a more regular schedule (like the Calamity & Jane stories).
If I might make a suggestion based on your comment without sounding self serving, going on the (fairly solid) assumption that you are better off finacially now than at the beginning perhaps you could commission, say, 3-4 pages at a time, giving you a buffer for regular, monthly updates without being too expensive and perhaps making the project a slightly higher priority for the artists. Not trying to tend your business or anything, just a suggestion.
