This picture looks more like a flashback to me. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the faery responsible for me being stuck with that dumb hat on my head.
Not sorry to say, I’m looking forward to our ‘main story line’ faeries suffering and being made to cry and feel a lot of pain, because 99% of the time, they’re jerks. Complete and total, over-reactionary jerks. Yeah, their magic is ‘kinda beneficial’ sometimes, but most times, its life changing/terror inducing/never really resolved-lets move on to the next faerie magic abuse-story…always nice, to see karma roll around and stab the abusers in the back from time to time.
Now, cue the reactionary sheeples to attack me. I’m a FAN of the comic. I like the comic. I’m just stating the OTHER opinion: once in a while, nice to see the cocky faeries get a comeuppance.
Totally looking forward to where this latest story arcs veers to wildly,
I think it’s fine to have a different opinion from the norm and I suspect you’re not alone in that position. I’m pretty sure, however, that pre-emptively name calling people is not a great way to start a rational conversation. It’s something trolls do and I like to think my audience is better than that.
Play nice, everyone. This comment section has stayed civil for almost six years now and I’d like it to stay that way.
“pre-emptively name calling people is not a great way to start a rational conversatio”
True enough. But really, all things considered, “reactionary sheeples” is fairly mild as far as being insulted by an anonymous Internet handle goes.
NarcanGoat has a point, and I also would love to see some fairies get some comeuppance for all their mean spirited tricks.
Jaycee
I’ve been on the internet since way before there even was a world wide web, and I remain firmly convinced I don’t have to accept the “Far West”-like rules of social conducts that apply everywhere else. The fact that it’s “mild by internet standards” doesn’t matter to me. I expect people in my little corner of the Far West to treat each other as they would in real life–and in my experience, people who are jerks on the internet rarely have the fortitude to behave that way in real life. They take advantage of the anonymity provided by the internet to behave in ways they know are socially unacceptable in reality.
If you’re going to be anonymous, be courteous. If you’re going to be a jerk, save that for real life. That’s courage, in my book, and I tell people this in real life all thetime.

I’m convinced that it is an act. She knows that controversy brings attention, and that attention brings her dollars. And so saying stupid shit brings her money.

The fact it’s an act is almost indisputable, but she still does it to your face. Say what you will about the woman, there’s a certain honesty and courage in doing that.

Just a note; much of the ‘wild’ reputation of the Old West was exaggeration meant to drive tourism, and to sell newspapers, books, tickets to ‘wild west’ shows, and (later) Hollywood movies. Not to mention inflate egos (Billy the Kid claimed to have killed dozens of men, but historians can only confirm a few).
The internet is only as wild as we let it be. So, feel free to be the marshal of your town. 🙂
Haven’t seen much of Crystal other than her younger panel and yet I already want her to suffer in some way at the end of this arc. And not in a sexually satisfying manner either… That is saying something for me O.o
Now taking bets that Crystal will somehow:
A – force Busty to do something truly horrible to Heather, ruining their odd friendship.
B – lock up Busty and have her own faerie do something awful to Heather, who will refuse to believe in Busty’s innocence, again ruining their friendship.
C – lock Busty up and sic her own faerie on Heather, ruining her life while forcing Busty to watch, unable to do anything to help.
D – lock Busty up and try to strongarm her into turning over her true name by tormenting Heather, the Mirror Elf and anyone else who sparks an emotional response in Busty.
They’ve gone to great lengths not to show Crystal as she currently looks. Could her name also be descriptive? Might she have become a Crystalline creature of some kind? Perhaps some other non-normative form?
THAT….is damn clever thinking, Meps98! Haven’t seen anyone hypothesize that idea yet; nicely thought…thunk…thinked…?…whatever word means you came up with the idea!

So, wait, now we have an “evil” fairy? As if the morality scale wasn’t confusing enough in this universe.
Jake
Now i’m starting to see why the fairy doesn’t like Heather’s cousin.
Guesticus
Same here, but what about that other faerie? Why is she working with Crystal against her own kind? o_O

*whispers* Take a wild guess…
Metathiax
My guess is Crystal is a Sorceress and can control faeries
TJgalon
well, now I hate the wait….*waits*

I also like the contrast. Heather and her faerie became friends, while Crystal seems to treat her Faerie as a slave.
Though admittedly, it seems she’s a willing slave.

Ah. A picture is starting to form.

But you look good with that hat. Rather stylish.

Except the Faeries victims usually have it coming. Plus, Heather and her Faerie are friends now.

Perhaps Faeries are individuals, and ally themselves with whomever they will. As opposed to being strict speciesists regarding loyalty, I mean.
Elfseeker
seriously? you all forgotten about the ’40 years’ ‘faerie command’ business? if Crystal is ‘frigid’….fairies should flee her like locusts!
