Ah – a poignant moment – a nice touch. I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks – very well done. Really enjoying the way the stories are going … and … probably not often enough mentioned, but 1$’s art is such a big part of why this all works. Panel three looks like a labor of love – pun intended – but the detail is exquisite. Every line looks perfect.
Yeah, Wondollar’s art is fantastic and definitely carries the story. Couldn’t do all this without his ability to render great poses and expressions. Panel 3 is one of my favorite ever!
Given the difficulty of keeping characters straight with all the “lookalike” spells flying around here, I have to ask: that is the actual Marie, right?
That kind of sex would be hard to forget. This said, she may not have associated this red-haired teenager and the handsome young adult who banged her silly way back. (She WAS a bit distracted by irresistible lust and all that…)
Y’know, if this was any other comic, I might be cheering for him to go find her after such a sweet (and kind of sad) moment. I’m a perpetual romantic like that. That said, this is Bloomin’ Faeries, and I’m cheering him on because the inevitable outcome is undoubtedly mass confusion and naughty hijinx!
Fair point. Though i do hope we see Heather’s mother eventually

I suppose it should happen, at some point. I’ve been keeping Heather’s parents in my backpocket for a rainy day, but so far, I’ve got plenty of stories to tell about the other characters, so that hasn’t been necessary.
The third panel hit me right in the feels. *keels over*
That said, the social strata between them (he’s the prince, she’s a lowly scullery maid) will forever keep them apart, at least as far as society is concerned. In the bedroom, however, is another story.
Albert’s looking rather worn out in the first panel. That last virgin noblewoman he had turn out to be a wildcat? (This being Bloomin’ Faeries, it’s possible she was a werecat!) Or is he realizing that endless mindless sex isn’t what he was looking for? (Third panel says “yes” to that question, btw!)
As for his parents, they’re probably celebrating his growth spurt and interest in girls (finding him a wife from neighboring kingdoms and internal baronies/counties/duchies to help forge a political alliance) and not questioning the speed of it.
And generally speaking, the Ladies-in-Waiting working in the King’s castle were typically from the families of Nobles. Indeed, a part of being a Lady-in-Waiting includes seeking out opportunities for advantageous marriage!
Marie already has her foot in the door…In a manner of speaking.
pedantic one
I’d be surprised if Marie is a lady-in-waiting . . . I think she’s a lady’s maid or chambermaid.
Which historically is a high-prestige job for a woman.
I just realized something: He’s a PRINCE, whose name is ALBERT……………….
No………you wouldn’t………………………….JC?

You’re not going to make him live up to *that* are you?

The Lurker was de-Mariefied, eiraM is in the mirror world (sort of), so yeah, that’s probably the real Marie.

That third panel is unusually romantic for this webcomic… 😉

The question is: does she remember?

I think she remembers, and is being rather diplomatic about it. >.>

Could be a little bit of both, right?

So does the King and Queen not mind that their song aged so quickly?
Jaycee
Considering we’ve never seen them, I wouldn’t be too concerned about what they think. 😛

Oh, you might not have seen them, but Heather sure has, thanks to me. Ha ha ha!

Oh, clever you! She has indeed! 🙂

Hey, now!
Marie is a lady‘s maid, not a scullery maid. She’s in charge of Heather’s rooms and helps her (un)dress.
Or she used to, anyway…
