So Heather and the Nun fully switched bodies pretty much instead of just trading appearances. It’s also nice to see some of Thane’s other ‘victims’ in the aftermath of their meeting with him though I don’t think I quite recognize those two.
But it’s definately them, didn’t even have to go back to be reminded 😀
CeriCat
Hard to say really, you never got a great look at either standing erect. But laying down asleep they seemed of a reasonable height, prior to that well one was stooped over a cauldron and the other was in the midst of jumping onto Thane when you see them as I recall. Of course as a taller person (6’1″) with a broad frame (44″ roughly/107cm) I can also attest that you look shorter than a thin person of a similar height to others even without slouching or stooping. We put it to the test with a female friend that was thought taller than me 3 years ago, nope me by 2cm.

They said “standing erect.” Hehe.
Juvenile I may be, but this would be the place.
Jaycee
Darn. You beat me to it!

Damn you. I baited that trap for Jaycee. *resets the bear trap* 😉
But on a more serious note tall women tend to slouch to avoid attracting attention, low self esteem is a serious problem for those afflicted with idiots that feel threatened by taller females. Myself… I’d happily take a woman my own height, fewer issues with less traditional positions.
Jaycee
CeriCat said “standing erect” (he says, gleefully stepping on the obvious bear trap).

There are days I wonder just how old you are, then I realise I don’t have the foggiest to begin with so the juvenile remarks could be quite age appropriate. 😉
Not that I can talk, I’ve been taking a certain malicious glee in playing Naughty Bear and driving the bears to suicide lately.
Yup, it’s the Prudish Twins. We never got to see them very clearly in the original strips, and certainly not all dressed up after Thane had his way with them. It was requested that I show them, so here they are! 🙂

I’m not complaining, it’s the first time most (all?) of us have seen them in colour, or drawn by Wondollar. Their obsession with salt though is scary to me, are they trying to cook the food or ferment it to make something like Surströmming?
Aye the Prudish Twins elder blondie got so excited about way before Wondollar took up as the artist. The “more salt” is the big give away, given it’s a different artist drawing and inking.
Considering how ‘familiar’ the little nun is with her companion, you think she would notice that arse is new, or maybe that is what her comment is about
Ah, but wouldn’t a ‘swap’ be less useful for Heather if people remember what her ‘other half’ looked like and noticed the change?
I’m guessing our fae friend has adjusted everyone’s memories and perceptions for this temporary period, just long enough for Heather do learn what she needs to…
> I wonder if the curse on your namesake still applies.
We may never know.
CeriCat
Good thing Thane isn’t in the cave. Oh wait spiders are immune to Faerie magic in theory…
Lurker
I hope we get to see the continuation of the spider arc sometime.
I am very curious about the spider/faerie ecosystem.
CeriCat
I suspect they might be the natural predators of the Faeries you’d wondered about in the past. And given the damage a few cellar spiders did to the ant problem in my bathroom it’s a really one sided battle. I’m still cleaning up drained husks.
Lurker
Still, I’m interested in Jaycee’s take on it, preferably presented in comic form.
Come to think of it, Attitude probably copied this trick from Busty.
Remember how she switched all the curses she’d constructed onto Jaycee’s ex over to Brooke, temporarily turning Brooke into an easily-aroused woman…?
This is how you can tell the old readers from the more recent ones: Attitude was a character from my blog (back when it was updated more regularly) before she made it into the strips.

In my defence I only stumbled across your comic late last year thanks to Oglaf. Raising kids didn’t leave a whole lot of time to enjoy a lot of my favourite pastimes, I have 4 years worth of Sabrina Online strips to catch up on as just one example of the impact infants and homelessness have on your reading efforts.
Jaycee
Oh, I meant no harm or offense! I don’t expect anyone to go back and read all the blog entries, that’s a lot of work! Real life always comes first!
–Jaycee

None was taken honestly. I’m currently involved in a court case regarding custody of said terrors so between lack of sleep and everything else going on I might seem a bit tetchy and I apologise. Catching up on comics and trying to get some development work done is all that’s keeping me going between the court hearings (read through my print media months ago).
I wasn’t even aware the blog was publicly accessible, last time I hit a post link it showed a member login as I recall.
Jaycee
Wow, man, that sounds like you’re going through some crazy real-life stuff. I hope the faeries help get your mind off all that drama.
Yeah, the blog entries are all in the open. I think there might be a few that are locked, but that should be a very tiny fraction of the entries.
That’s life for you, I need to stop dating crazy people.
Jaycee you’re one of the few authors who has (recently) managed to throw twists I didn’t see coming a mile away, even if I didn’t get a good chuckle that’d be worth following BF for, it’s so rare to see a story that goes in an unexpected but plausible direction.
And thanks, I’ll get to reading up between test builds (once the kids are sorted I need to build a better machine the GPU in this one doesn’t shoulder any of the load the old P4 does more work on average).
Jaycee
Yeah. Crazy people… That’s when you wish THEY had faeries in their lives… and you had a camera to watch the results. 😛
Thanks for the kind words. I aim to entertain, and it looks like it’s working for you. Good to hear! That kind of praise is just what I needed to start this week. 🙂

I dunno that the Fae folk are acting on my life, but definitely the trends suggest someone with a sense of humour more evil than my own is tugging strings. Definitely I’ve seen no Faeries but given it’s Australia I might have mistakenly squished one thinking it was a fly.
Lurker

As long as you don’t take a leak on one…

I have around 2,000 reasons why Faeries wouldn’t really like the place, we have spiders everywhere. Some species getting to be the size of a dinner plate.
Busty (as you call her) has never been named. Attitude and Minx (who live with me) both served as inspiration for the character “Little Attitude” you’ve seen in the strip talking to “Busty.”

I believe you are correct, a quick run back to the beginning and it shows their hairstyles are the same. 🙂 A nice little coincidence!
CeriCat
It’s the Prudish twins. Brelga and Helga. The “more salt” should have been a hint.

I don’t remember any mention that BF faeries have such godlike powers.

I wonder if the curse on your namesake still applies. The bell does after all.
And yeah seems a bit excessive, though given they were already “touched by Cathol’s will” they’re probably less prone to surprise at such changes.
