Exiern vs Bloomin’ Faeries!
Starting tomorrow is a very special crossover event with Exiern which has been in the works for several weeks: characters from both Exiern and Bloomin’ Faeries! finally get to meet!
Illustrated by Wondollar himself, these ongoing strips (presented in the traditional Bloomin’ Faeries! format) will be going up on both the Bloomin’ Faeries Patreon and the Exiern Patreon starting tomorrow, Friday, November 8, and then one new strip every other until completion.
On both BF and Exiern, it will be available as a reward for one-dollar tier and above ($1 for Wondollar! Sorry, we couldn’t resist it!) The good news is that this is a freebie and you won’t be charged for it.
For those not on Patreon, these strips will be published on Fridays one week later at both the Exiern site and here on Bloomin’ Faeries!. Watch both sites for future updates!
Please check out the Exiern Patreon. Please keep in mind there is adult material at these links and hence potentially NSFW!
Please consider helping to support Scott and Shan so that he can make more Exiern pages! These guys are doing great work and we want Exiern to keep on rocking!
Just so you know, this isn’t the first time Exiern produces some great BF-inspired strips. For the lead in and what happened before this crossover:
Saying goodbye to a webcomic which had been very good to us and seemed to be gone forever …
…but then it came back a few weeks later! We were very surprised but also very glad.
Reintroducing a key character to the audience.
Where the previous year’s decisions lead to.
Thanks to Shan, Scott and Wondollar for helping make this happen! We hope you enjoy this as much as we did making it!
Strip #414
Where Was I?
It’s been a quiet few months, eh?
Let me start with an apology. I’m sorry that I’ve been silent for these past few months. I left my day job last summer in the hope of becoming a full-time writer, and by February, I came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t going to happen. March and April were largely spent wallowing in shameful misery, then a quest for new employment. This quest is completed now and I’m in the process of relocating myself and the faeries to my original hometown of Montreal.
What happened to the Indiegogo campaign?
The bad news is that the money never came through. Indiegogo’s customer service never responded to my queries, so I waited in vain for some kind of explanation.
The good news is that I fulfilled the rewards for those that purchased them, and will be producing the next three comics out of my own pocket. The first one (#410) is already or, and I’ll be working with Wondollar on producing the next two at a rate of one a month.
What about the Patreon campaign?
I had a target of $500 per comic before resuming a weekly schedule. We’re at half of that at the moment, but I’m thinking of starting production on a monthly basis for now, and increase the frequency as the contributions go up. Perhaps having strips out on a regular basis will help build momentum. With #411 and #412 already covered by the Indiegogo campaign, this would mean the first Patreon-sponsored strip would come out on September 1 of this year.
So that’s the latest news. Hope you’re not all too upset with me.
But if you are, please remember to blame the faeries.

Alita — Review & Naughty Art
This isn’t where I normally do these reviews, but as I’m collating all the stuff for those who purchased the Archivist perk in the IndieGoGo campaign, I ran across this piece of art I commissioned over FOUR YEARS AGO.
I was always a HUGE fan of Gunnm and read the manga when it came out decades ago. I went to see the movie with some fairly high expectations and, at the same time, I was ready to be heavily disappointed. It turns out I love this movie as much as I loved Wonder Woman (a LOT!). I think they did a phenomenal job showing their love for the source material (always a critical point for me when they’re doing an adaptation of existing books/comics) and showed Alita to be a fierce warrior as much as a caring person. In some ways, I think I love the movie even more than I loved the manga—and that’s saying something. I’ve already seen the movie twice in theaters and encourage you all to do the same.

The Patreon campaign to revive Bloomin’ Faeries! is officially ON.
There are 4 tiers:
Faerie Egg (Reader)
There are only 500 spots in there, and it’s $1 per comic. This lets you read the script as it goes out to Wondollar, and you get the comic as soon as it’s ready. This means up to several weeks before the public sees it, and in higher resolution.
Faerie Trainee (Supporter)
Unlimited spots at $2 per comic. It’s like Faerie Egg, plus once a week, I’ll publish 2-3 strips from the old backlog. Over time, you’ll get everything.
Faerie Mistress (Fan)
Unlimited spots at $5 per comic. It’s like Faerie Trainee, plus you get the sketches from Wondollar as I get them. Also, once a week, I’ll publish 1 item (comic page, strip, ebook, etc.) from the old members-only area. Over time, you’ll get everything.
Faerie Whisperer (Contributor)
This is the coolest reward, and there’s only 10 spots (at $10 per comic each). This means you’re part of the people who actively contribute to the story. You get polled, you get to submit story ideas, you can even get to choose descriptions & names for new characters that get introduced (who knows, it might even be YOU!). And of course, you get everything else from the other rewards.
You can find the campaign by clicking on the image below.
What About the IndieGoGo Campaign?
At the time of this writing, I’m still waiting for the disbursement of the money they’re supposed to send me. I’m becoming concerned and now looking for ways to reach out to IndieGoGo & clear up any problems. It’s still technically within the original deadline they said (15 working days), but I’m a bit worried.
No matter what, however, everyone will get the rewards they were promised (except the comic themselves, if it turns out I don’t receive the money to make them). 🙁

Indiegogo Campaign Ending!
Great news everyone, the campaign ended yesterday. I’m waiting to get the money from Indiegogo before getting Wondollar started on the comic, but I’m expecting the transfer to occur any time in the coming week. Since this is my first time using Indiegogo, I’m not sure how quickly they will get the money to me. I’ll update you some time next week.
We’ve made enough money to create THREE comics, so that’s what’s coming down the pipe. I don’t seem to be able to post updates on the campaign anymore, so I’ll have to find a way to keep everyone who contributed informed. Again, I’m learning the ropes of Indiegogo as I go, so please be patient with me while I do.
Lastly, the obvious question: what’s next?
I’m working on a Patreon page for the comic. My goal is to have the comic be supported by backers, who’ll have a say in what happens in the comic based on the level of contribution they have. I would love to be able to bring the comic back weekly, and Patreon seems like the best way of going about that. There’s an option to charge backers per comic, and that’s what I’m looking into. I’m thinking of three backer levels at the moment:
- $2 per comic: you get to read the scripts in advance
- $5 per comic: as $2, plus you get to see the sketch in advance & vote on minor story details (choice of characters in a strip, specific kink, lines of dialogues, etc.); if I ever reach $750 of revenues per comic, you also get the occasional digital goodie (bonus art).
- $10 per comic: as $5, plus you get to see the final strip in advance & vote on story arcs; if I ever reach $1000 of revenues per comic, you also get the occasional physical goodie (to be shipped).
I may throw in more stuff as I’m able to, but obviously I have to keep an eye on costs. Unlike before, I hope to earn some revenues for myself from this venture (up to last year, I was treating it as just a hobby, so it didn’t matter–now I want to live full time from this and other creative ventures). But I can promise you that as much as I can, I’ll do what I can to make it worth your while. This may include (for example) small short erotic stories featuring one character or another from the strip (or other characters I come up with). Those, of course, would be sent to members of every tier, not just those who pay the most (though obviously, I may have some exclusive stuff for them as well).
Anyway, that’s the plan as it now stands. I hope to have the Patreon page live by early February.
Thanks again to everyone who supported the Indiegogo campaign.
